Wayne Morse Youth Program
The Wayne Morse Youth Program invites you to an exciting intergenerational collaborative extravaganza! The Eugene talent represented ranges from spoken word to Hip Hop, percussive Latin rhythms to funk and folk, break dancing, flamenco, and of course, the talent that comes from the path to the stage to dazzle listeners during open mic. The mic will be open to those that wish to share, as long as they keep respect so the atmosphere stays positive and welcoming for all. This is civics in action community edutainment!. The WMYP is a local non-profit dedicated to youth empowerment through civics arts, education and employment. These youth are known locally for the Free Speech Open Mic they facilitate at the Wayne Morse Free Speech Plaza. Now this venue for civic connection and conscious thought has found a home at the Fair. The WMYP will facilitate the mic at the Spirit Tower stage in the afternoons.
