Larry Weinerman

Larry Weinerman is the director of White Bird’s Chrysalis drug treatment program. Larry has worked for the Willamette Aids council doing outreach to help preventing the spread of the HIV virus to the drug using population. Working with thousands of drug abusing clients in the last sixteen years and knowing the potentially dangerous effects of drugs, Larry has come to believe that America’s longest war, the War On Drugs has to, and will end soon. Knowing that change is slow, he believes that now is the time to for that change to begin. Larry traveled with the Hoedad Forest Worker collective, tree planting in Oregon, Washington, Idaho, and Montana. He lived out of a 1955 Volkswagen van, working five or six months a year and living the rest of the time up some deserted forest service road. Larry has live a full spectrum of experience from Manhattan to the green forest of Oregon.
