Sandra Bauer

Oregon Country Fair –
Sandra was a member of the founding collective of the Oregon Country Fair and participated in the management of the fair for the first 20 years. A member of the original main camp group that took over management after Bill and Cindy moved on, she was also a founding member of the first Board of Directors and was the first board president. During this time she worked with the fair attorney, Jill Heiman, to sue Lane County over the right to assemble. The settlement was part of the down payment to buy the Oregon Country Fair land. She still attends the Fair every year and works in Trouble shooters (Solutions) booth at registration.
The Great Peninsula Future Festival Director: 2007 to present
This is a green festival that educates the public about sustainability and the environment in Port Gamble, Washington during the first weekend in August. It makes learning fun, creates community and broadens the base of those who are interested in sustainability.
Northwest Medical Teams International: 2003 to 2005
Sandra created exhibits for Northwest Medical Teams International that re-created the conditions the organization encounters delivering disaster services in third world countries. These exhibits immersed the public in real life scenes encountered by medical teams as they deliver life saving services after natural and man made disasters. The exhibits were used as the centerpiece for a large fundraising effort and toured different cities. They were also used as the basis for school curriculum in elementary, middle and high schools.
Sandra is active in the community, democratic party politics, home owners association and has produced many fundraisers, music events, auctions, and dinners for 50 to hundreds of people for a variety of humanitarian causes.
