George Siemon

In 1988 George Siemon joined a half-dozen neighboring family farmers to form Organic Valley® Family of Farms. Under George's leadership as CEO, Organic Valley has grown to include nearly 1000 family farms spread over 29 states in the US, and is the largest organic farmers' cooperative in North America.  George served on the National Organic Standards Board that advises the Agriculture Department on matters associated with the organic industry, including selecting acceptable organic ingredients and establishing standards of organic practice.  George is a pragmatic farmer, with a ‘back to the land’ pioneering spirit. He is a champion for a system of farming that supports family farms and revitalizes rural communities, benefits the environment, and provides consumers with high-quality organic food.  http://www.organicvalley.coop/
