Ari Lesser
Political Science major with a minor in Business Administration at the University of Oregon, Ari Lesser delivers intelligent, conscious, and often political Hip Hop. Ari says “I feel very strongly that the war in Iraq is an unjust war.
Ari says that Eugene is ground zero for the Hip Hop revolution of conscious lyrics that is sweeping the nation. He often satirizes of the mainstream rap with “ignorant songs” that are profane, chauvinistic, hedonistic, and sarcastic in an endeavor to lay bare the absurdity that the majority of themes are sexism, racism, violence and drug abuse.
Ari’s family owns The Funny Times newspaper, an ad free monthly that compiles short stories and cartoons, both political and nonpolitical, from writers and cartoonists around the country.
